I've signed up for the 10-day free trial (for the original game, not TBC), and am currently downloading the 2.0.0 enGB client via the BlizzDownloader. However the speed of this is shocking, and more often than not my download speed is the same if not lower than my upload speed (~50kb/s) and will take about 14 hours to finish.

So I was wondering if anyone knew of any mirrors to directly download the client from? I have searched around on Google but with no luck. If not a mirror then perhaps a torrent that is known to have quite good speeds.

Any help would be great, thanks.

Simon

You could try turning peer-to-peer off in the Blizzdownloader perferences. I did this and my download speed stuck at around 280Kbps (my average max speed).

Wow, I love you. :p I thought that would have reduced my speed even more (like less than 10kb/s) as the Blizz mirror was going really slow for me. Speed now ranges from 350-680kb/s, but that's a hell of a lot better than my previous range of 30-130kb/s!

Thanks again. :D

No problem. Blizzard crank up your upload speed to help others, but they do it too high that it rips down your download speed.

True, just a shame there isn't an option. They should offer it simply as a torrent file as well so you can download it via a better client like uTorrent.

There was a way of getting the tracker info so you could just use your own torrent client but I can't remember how to do it or if that's still possible.
