WoW Client Questions

I'm gonna have to install WoW again pretty soon and have a question about the client. Can I just do a clean install using the WOTLK discs? If so, is there a latest client that has the patches or do these still have to be manually downloaded after the install?

AFAIK you have to install origional wow, then tbc then wotlk. dont patch before you install all the expansions it'll save you some time.

you can just move the wow folder to another drive and it will still work fine

or you could try this http://www.wowwiki.com/Patch_mirrors

go to 'Playable Client' None → 3.0.1 (Full, ~7.3 GiB)

that way you will only need to install patch 3.1 make sure you get the euro gb one tho

the cds take an age to install

Once you install you'll have to download a patch of somesort. The latest patches for WoW are available to download from various websites.

I do find it easier to just let the client auto patch, that way you know you're getting the right one.

You can download all the games from the Warcraft site, Might take a little longer then a disc install, but just so you know

Yes, you can do a clean install using just the WotLK discs. Probably quicker to do that and patch rather than download the full client itself.

I was tempted, but then realised it would be hypocritical because I had already given it a good 6 months of my own
