Just wondering if anyone else out there on the forums is in a high end guild currently. Playing as a priest (holy/disc) and i gotta admit theres so much more to heal now, even with only 25 people it seems. Currently working on Magtheridon and SSC, mag seems a trifle hard but we only tried him pre-tweak so maybe a few more goes this week.

Other peoples experiences/thoughts on the new raiding in tbc?

If anyones curious, Gruul is as follows. If you dont want to know what goes on, dont watch but it can be an interesting fight.

Gruul

I've stopped doing the whole raiding thing. I'm still in a decent guild...but it's just so much effort doing the big raids.

BTW - are you still at aberystwyth?

Unfortunately not, finished uni there and moved back down south.

It does take a lot of effort to have a job and play at endgame level, so many herbs to farm etc :)

 I only started playing this game a few weeks ago. Im dreading the time I will be doing those raids/endgame stuff. Looks fun but looks hard too.

you can play the game your own way

if you dont like the idea of end game raiding (and after you tried it you still dont like it) nobodies forcing you to participate. if you feel your guilds forcing you to just join a different one with a different mindset

no point in spending money(and time) playing a game you dont enjoy

i got the most enjoyment out of wow rerolling different classes and getting them up to lv60 and mucking about in the 5 man instances

On the new server Shattered Halls I got my 70 Lock there (Got 70 2 weeks back) and we've done about 9 bosses in Karazhan so far (Semi-endgame I guess)

But anyway I've kinda quit that Warlock and decided to play my 60 Warrior which is currently close to 62, feels weird going around with full BWL/AQ40 gear and seeing it nearly replaced by some Level 61-3 greens :(

Yeah, I had full BWL gear and a few bits from Naxx, replaced with greens

However my end game raiding aint started yet. IOnly hit lvl 70 Friday so I'm starting the quests to get the key attunements for heroric modes

Did you finish your course at aber?

we are currenty trying gruul, we get about 50% each time. Think we just need to pot up and go for it. However everyones saying sometimes he bugs and doesnt do his shatter and grasp.

Havent tried mag yet.

Didnt finish my course no, it got more and more programming based so i stopped it there. Got a good job instead so turned out to be worth it.

One of our kills on Gruul he was bugged and did 1 shatter and no hateful strikes, its just a dps test at that point to kill him before he grows too big. We did an horus worth of self buff attempts and got him to 40-50%, then re-cleared trash, flasked up and 1 shotted him without troubles (the vid linked above is that kill, Warlock POV who does a silly amount of damage).

The resist gear is coming back in to play too now, first boss in serpentshrine requires the tanks to have 1 with full frost resist, 1 with full nature resist, another 2 also need a mix of both :/ thankfully the rest of the raid shouldnt require any yet.

Small update, 1st boss in Serpentshrine down :) world 7th so pretty pleased with that.

Guild - Just gotta live up to the guild name :p

its a lot of the old 'Grand Theft Kodo' guys back together that transferred from Al'Akir

I like the new raiding, you have to concentrate more but you dont have to worry about getting 40 people online. We arnt as far as you guys, for a start we're on a RP server, yes don't ask, never intended to actually play there but we ended up staying.

We run 2 groups in Karazhan each week with Gruul's Lair on a sunday, got the King down but not Gruul yet, he's on about 50% i think, usually get both groups killing prince in kara, so we are doing ok. nethersprite is giving us a headache though.

We were the only guild that ever managed to kill c'thun on our server though, so I think our talent pool is a lot smaller than the bigger PVP realms, oh and you get the inherent 'Emo' problems with Rpers
