WOW & ESET = Time Out????

Hi all,

I have returned to WOW and I am loving it. Problem is, every hour or so, (sometimes every hour on the hour) WOW will just freeze along with Vent.

After 30s vent will Auto re-connect and WOW lets me log back on.

the only thing I can think of is ESET smart security doing something???


any ideas?
 
Have you tried maybe uninstalling everything ESET to see if you problems are solved?

You can still re-install it after 30 minutes or so.

I'd recommend scanning for viruses before uninstalling it, just to be safe!

If it's not ESET, what about your router? Your problem also sounds like your ADSL could be de-syncing? Although the every hour on the dot problem could maybe be some program trying to update and causing issues.

never thought of the line trying to maybe resync, that said, when WOW and Vent drop i can use the www so i am gonna discount that.
 
I've never had to forward ports for outbound services, especially WOW or ventrilo.

Shaggy, make a note of the freezes and see if it's actually consistent every hour. Should help narrow down the problem if it is exactly on the hour.
