WOW Folder is over 8GB

it's quite a big game, mines 7.6gb

I tried deleting the folders in "patches" but i couldn't log in afterwards so apart from your screenshots and your interface addons I don't think there's much you can do

I spose if you have any WoW mods it'd be bigger - But since I only recently re-installed WoW, I am 7.12GB - since yours is bigger, maybe you have mods installed?

why do you need to back it up anyway???

What happens when you loose your disk etc?

Do you have re-install the base installation then download all the patches again?...it'll take days.

6.68gb here with expansion aswell, although i do (not) need to download the new patch so i win yet kind of cheated

annoying though as there are eight cds to install it all from

I think your pretty much safe to delete the patches, if you fully uninstall the game it will leave them behind (over 1gb for me and thats only from 2006 patches). If you completely wipe it away and reinstall, the WoW patch will most likey download a huge increment file (but less people means quicker DL) like 1.2.0 (i think) to 2.0.1 then the additional patches from BC.

When i got rid of wow then reinstalled it again i got a patch from 1.2.0 to 1.6.0 and that was around 4-500mb then.

seriously?? is that with the high resolution map pack you can download?

No that's without any scenery files, just the sim and addon aircraft. All my terrain and scenery are located on a seperate partition and come in at around the 80Gb mark.

If you have played on the test realm at all then your wow folder will be close to 10Gb in size as it duplicates data and then patches it for the test realm, that can be deleted.

Game fully patched up for TBC should be around 6Gb though afaik. 4.6Gb for WoW and an addition 1.5Gb for BC.
