Wow from one comp to another........

Probably here somewhere, but there are so many WoW threads on here searching didn't help.......

I've downloaded WoW, which took about 13 hours, then once it's installed there are the patches which takes a couple more hours.

If I were to get a new comp, is there a way to transfer the whole lot across rather than all the downloads again??

Yeah somehow, something involving a PC and a game cannot be so simple. I completely understand your initial skeptisism

same, i do it all the time, just shortcut the exe to desktop and bam, will work like normal, think this also applies to most, if not all games

Most games it wouldnt work for, it depends if things are installed in other places (the system32 folder for example) or makes changes to the registry.

WOW is a rare beast indeed, but its a great rare beast

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I think WoW also stores all the patches it downloads in it's directory.

So if you wanted to reinstall it on the new rig, just make sure to grab the patches.

But, like the others advised, copying the folder across seems to be the best option.
