In dire need of an upgrade to play WoW, the problem is im on a limited budget of around £300 but I only need a CPU/Mobo and Case/PSU. However my video card is lacking in a bit of power as its only a 9800 Pro (should I upgrade or not?). I was thinking of keeping my current RAM (1GB PC3200) and GFX Card and upgrading the bare essentials ; cpu, mobo, case and psu. I was thinking of a 64bit PC3500 with an nForce equivilent board etc but im unsure on whats the best for my budget. If possible you can stick a newish HD in, oh and btw I need a default running rig - no overclocking!

For 300 quid youre going to have to be more specific as to what you want. Do you want a new CPU and Motherboard or a new graphics card?

Once we know what your current spec is, however, we can tell you what to choose for the best performance increase.

What CPU are you using? I have a 9800 Pro 256Mb and P4 3.2Ghz and i can run WoW at 1600 x 1200 without issue

What are the specs of your current system?

I ran WoW on a 9800 Pro maxed out and the FPS were pretty high. If you think you can get high FPS on any rig at the Auction House in WoW your kidding yourself.

looks pretty good, though for graphics the PowerColor ATI Radeon X800 XL 256MB DDR3 VIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-038-PC)
Price: £69.95 (£82.19 Including VAT at 17.5%) is the better buy imo. Much more raw processing power.

I ran WoW on a 9800pro and a A64 3500 at 1920x1024, the only thing that limited performance was the 1GB of RAM. You really need 2GB for good performance.
