you guys agree that hardware is so easy outdated these days i remember only a couple of years ago it was only single cores now it's quad cores and ddr3 and DX10, blueray, H-D.....24 inch HD screens, 1000 gig hard drives........so can you imagine this time next year what will it be any clues LOL :p

its always been like that, you cant blink in the hardware world before something new is coming out....

Next gen hardware aint worth thinkin about to be honest. You have started a whole gettin of fish and I bet people post in this thread with a whole new imagination.

just buy what u can and make do as long as u can with what ya got pointless doing needless upgrades ( at least I keep telling myself that, as i have stuff to buy for house :))

I had a good spec PC.

My missus got pregnant, had our son and he's now 7 months old.

My PC is poo.

Babies don't help either.

if you have the money upgrade your pc with top spec all the time and be happy in your game playing, if you dont have the money dont upgrade buy high spec off the bat make do for longer and still be happy with your game playing!

High end hasnt really changed that much in the last 11 months, Ok Quad cores, but the X6800 2.93Ghz, combined with a Geforce 8800GTX is still a pretty high end system.

But its true, computer's get outdated very quickly. Not always for the best either. I still remember some great games for the BBC Microcomputer 32K. Bigger faster computers, and we keep inventing new ways to make them slower :)

Thats what I did just under 3yrs ago, bought the best pc money could buy(fx55 cpu, 2x 6800gt cards and 1gb cosair xms3200 memory), and it lastest about 16 months before I started upgrading the parts. I would say since ive had it, Ive spent about 3 or £400 on it. But its at the stage now that It cant be upgraded anymore, accept for a new graphics card that Im going to get next week.

Will my pc be high end again when I stick a 8800 or 1GB 2900xt in it?? see in sig.

Yeah and that had a poxy 6502 instead of a stupendous Z80:p

Point taken though as to what an 8 bit micrprocessor properly programmed could do.

At work we are now doing new stuff with this super technology, except we actually did the same (but better) 20 years ago:rolleyes:

A bit sad, I am:confused:
