Hi All,

I have just in the last week resubbed my WoW account and bought TBC. It's been basically 2.5 years since I quit. My main char is a lvl 60 mage (which at the time wasn't so bad). I am only a casual player (2-2.5 hours of an evening) so never got involved in Molten Core etc. On the advice of a friend I've entered Outlands and am questing there atm (and getting v.good xp).

I keep seeing people mentiong T5/T6 gear and all this stuff. WHat I'd like to know is it if possible for me to get any half decent gear on my way and at 70 without being in big raids etc? I mean last night I got 2 quest rewards which were better than my blue items (which were good a couple of years ago).

The server I'm on is PvE and I've never done any PvP except in big fun fights at the crossroads.

It's good atm deffo enjoying for me the new content of TBC. Just feel like such a noob (half the time have no idea what people are talking about on world wide chat).

Any advice/pointers is much appreciated.

There's some level 60 honour gear but it's not very good. Just go through instances, do quests and you'll get good gear on your way to 70.

Tailors can make some decent gear for mages, so it may be worth taking that as a profession. It's also worth doing some battlegrounds to get enough points for the honour PvP gear as it's very good, and better than most stuff before heroic instances.
At level 70 run heroics and try to get into some Karazhan runs - as well as the drops you can get, you'll also start collecting badges which you can trade for some really nice gear.
Good luck !

You'll pick up some blues from quests around 67ish that will last you a while.
At 70, you can get some decent epics from battlegrounds that will serve you well in PvP and PvE also.
You can also get gear from doing lots of heroics. Not sure if you've heard of heroics (they weren't about pre-TBC) - They're basically instances that are 'tuned' to level 70 players - The mobs hit harder, have more HP, some are immune to crowd control etc. - The bosses in heroics drop better loot and also drop tokens which you can trade in for T5/T6 level gear at vendors. There's some really nice stuff you can pick up just from doing heroics alone.
So yes, it's definitely possible to pick up decent gear without raiding. WoW caters much more to the casual player now than it did when TBC was released.
