I know WoW has been out for a long time, but I have never played it before. I've downloaded it and am playing free ATM. I am bumbling around as a Human Mage and am currently Lvl 8. I did play a similar game (Dark Age of Camelot) for 10 years, but I have no idea where to begin with this. Also, I don't know anyone in game which kind of sucks.

Can anyone please give some basic advice about what is the best race/class to play and how to level efficiently etc? If this game has PVP then I would like to do that eventually too.

Is it possible to change the UI? Or move elements around the screen? No idea how to do that.

I have voice if anyone plays and can spare some time to help a fellow out :)

Hello mate, I'm on a discord server with a few other ex DAOCers playing WOW. I can ping you an invite if you like.

Yes please, that would be great. I am off on holiday now for a couple of weeks but will pick up with you guys when I get home if that's OK? What's your name on Discord and I'll send you a message?

Blizzard have individual forums for each realm so thats always a good place to start looking for a guild/community to join. Theres always nice social guilds who will have a great amount of people happy to help newer players.

Im not sure what the rules are with trial accounts but they definately have limited access.

As said just take your time, that first period in wow learning and discovering the world is one of the best experiences and the game hands you out new spells as you level which are designed to slowly build you into the main rotations of your class.

Just remember keep a hearthstone at a nearby hub or capital cuity so you can quickly nip back to sell loot etc. Click on flight masters so you can use their flight paths to get around quicker wtc

Thanks, that's great. Howw do I bind my stone to a different village than the one I started? At the moment it takes me back to Marshal Something Or Other.

Lots of stuff

Gold Star for you! Thank you so much for taking the time to type all of that out, hugely appreciated. I'll bear that in mind. How do I find which server to use? At the moment I am on Steamweedle or something like that - just picked one at random :)

Also, in DAoC, I played healing classes mostly; what the those in WoW? Which are most needed for PVE/PVP? I ask because I saw a YT video today that said Tanks and Healing classes are always needed for Raids and there are never enough, whereas there are always lots of damage classes and they often have to wait?
