Hi guys,
I need some tips on getting the most out of my system:

AMD X2 4200
ASUS A8N Pre
1Gb XMS 3200
2x GF7800 GTX
Dell 2405FPW

I play World of Warcraft a lot... and the other day someone mentioned to me that I should be playing in opengl... so i tried it. I run WoW in 1900x1200 with all settings at max and 24bit colour with 4xMS currently and get around 40 to 50 fps but when i stuck the -opengl tag on the shortcut my fps dropped to about 3 but it looked amazing!

Surely my rig should be able to run it a little better than that so, have any of you set yours up with a similar setup and could offer me some advice?

Thanks muchly in advance!

u looked on the support forums??

how do i get this open gl jobbie to work???

its a longshot but it MIGHT be that u dont have enough ram, with textures on full WoW eats a gig of ram for breakfast

add -opengl to the properties of the short cut mate,

just tried it with my ati x1900xtx runs ok, but stutters now n then.

Looks really good though

I was thinking that I might need more memory, think I will have to save and get some next month and give it a go, its about time I got out of the 1Gb phase.

Thanks for the help :)

im running 4gb lol,

so dont think its a mem issue on my machine,

it wasnt paging or anything,

but yeah your right, 2gb is a must with wow really. i saw a huge improvement when i went to 2gb when i first started out with wow a long time ago lol

Thats settled then, I will replace the stuff i have for 2x 1024 chips but what to chose, nothing too fancy but nothing too pontless... Any suggestions? looking at about 150 notes I think.

im an intel man mate.

so not in a good position to suggest ram for an amd rig.

I know its not cpu limited thats for sure, canna be ram as stated above i have 4gb.

With a 6400 conroe running at 3.35ghz. but then ATI has never been that strong in opengl

have you tried it in non sli, could be that sli isnt running right with it
