No, I'm not talking about dancing fairies and druids, i'm talking about the QX6700. :)

Fitted it today. Not cheap, but for what I need it's an absolute beastie. I think i've just done the fastest installation of WinXP and Win2k3 i've ever seen.

what cpu did you have before the QX6700 ?

E6300 and E6600, both very good CPU's the E6300 is deffo the star of the show for bargain price and silly overclocks

Just tried the QX with a mild bit of overclocking as my ram hasnt turned up yet. managed to get it to match the mem at FSB 333 without trying.

It's running quite happily at 3.3Ghz, so am quite impressed so far... :)

It's a Zalman 9500AT. Was thinking of putting something else in instead, but the 9700 will not fit, and to be honest the 9500 is doing a grand job. :)

The current Windows installer and setup is single threaded. Vista's is fully multi threaded :)

So yeah, not sure how the QX speeded up your install time :p :) What did you upgrade from? Could just be that your old hardware was really crap :p
