I'm after a laptop for playing World of Warcraft well, no more, no less :). Anyone have any suggestions?

My tower which has intel quad core and 2x 8800 GTX's doesn't run it very well, there are some issues with newer hardware I believe, ie that the game doesn't scale well with it.

if you think you're tower doesnt run it very well with that spec you really don't want to try playing it on a laptop.

take it you've got 4gb of memory in the tower system ?

This smells fishy, fishy like the huge WoW thread we had a while ago, where the guy with a stupidly high spec wanted to know why WoW wasnt playing well.

Let me be the first to say....TROLL!!!

I want a laptop so I can play it out of the house, not to improve performance (but I still want it to play well). Yes I have 4gb, and it runs it ok, the performance didn't improve as much as I thought it would have done on my tower.

After looking on the WoW forums it seems to be agreed that modern graphics cards and processors don't necessarily increase the performance of the game as expected, as the game is 4 years old and doesn't take advantage of new hardware.

WoW runs fine (well a little on the slow side ;) ) on my MacBook with a 64MB Intel GMA 950.

I should imagine you'll be fine with something like the GMA 3100 or whatever the current Intel one is or any of the Nvidia ones...

There must be something wrong with your system - I played WoW on a tower with a similar ish spec to yours - Q6600 & 8800GTX - and it was perfect. any 8800 should completely steamroll WoW tbh.

i have loads of mods ALL details set to max and my 8800 gts didt even flicker think about 50 fps, only prob was that was on 19" screen, have a 24" and its slowing down now :D
