Hi i starting playing WOW tonight for the first time but cant get the quests to show up in the mini map in the top right corner.

I have to keep pressing M to get the big map up where the quest will be a big highlighted 1.

Is there a way to track my quests for them to appear on the mini map to save me keep using the big map every time?.

I need your help on something else now please

When i try and sell certain items to a merchant its taken money off me instead of me receiving it i currently have 99 gold or copper when i try and sell thom whin scale and dust instead of my money going above 99 i have like 8 left not sure what im doing wrong?

Also i swear when i completed a quest just now instead of receiving 49 gold it was taken away from me,whats going on?

Are you sure you're looking at all of the columns for the money?

If you added 5c to this it would show up as 1s 4c

Sorry if that's too basic a question but always best to ask.

ah so what you saying is i probabrly had cooper and when its gone over 99 it then converts to gold which starts off lower?
 
yes:
100 copper = 1 silver.
100 silver = 1 gold.

one word of advice, start your proffesions as early as possible such as blacksmithing, mining, tailoring, skinng etc - they make you a lot of money in the long run by selling items you create through the auction house.

You have a lot of learning to do but you will enjoy it enormously.
 
Thanks for the advice guys im only on level 5 blood elf (Mage) but im in the village and keep getting attack by a death knight level 80 two of them?
i cant get anywhere without getting killed is this part of the game or is this other players just attacking me i dont stand a chance

That will be another player (as dick to be more specific) Make a new character on a PvE Server if you want to avoid that.

I assume you are currently on a PvP server which basically means you are "flagged" for PvP at all times, meaning the opposite faction can kill you (or try) whenever they like, on a PvE server you have to "flag" yourself manually.

PvP = Player vs Player.

im not sure what server im on,im sure i didnt select player vs player though,but it seems i must have,thanks for the info.
 
If I remember correctly they shouldn't be able to attack you in the starter areas unless you attack them first and flag yourself for PVP - you should be 'safe' by default.

Unless they've changed the rules?
 
i keep getting falconwing is under attack and thats where there are 2 or 3 death knights level 80 killing the village and me if i go near it, hopeless cant do anything lol
 
Erm be careful. If the rules are still the same you can't ever transfer from a pve server to a pvp one, but can transfer from a pvp to pve one. Most of the best guilds are on pvp servers.

Also I'm hot sure how level 80's can attack you if you're level 5 since you'll be in starting areas until around level 18 afaik, so you can't be attacked unless you enable pvp or attack them.

Also I reccomend pvp servers for the lols :) You're always going to get idiots who gank you and will make levelling up harder, but same level world pvp is A LOT of fun :)

well i im getting attacked by level 80s and try to run away but no good they always catch me i havent got pvp enabled.

Edit i have just made sure pvp is diabled on my character maybe it was selected by mistake?

hmm well pvp is only enabled in starting areas if you attack them or have pvp turned on. After you attack them it stays enabled for about 5 mins I think. I'm not sure if this countdown continues when you're dead, but starting areas are designed to help you get used to the game without getting ganked.
