Just converted one of my dvds to dvd5 and whoooosh did it go. 1000 odd frames /sec. I looked at taskmgr to see both cores going at 100%.

It is great when applications make use of 2 cpus.

Heh compared Tmpenc on my Opteron 144 @ 2.4Ghz (me wonder chip, does this at 1.2v rofl) vs my 6400 ES at 3GHz, man the Opteron got owned, 1 hour Core 2 vs 4+ on the Opteron with the same file.

my brother owns a c2d but i wasnt at the time able to afford so a big upgrade. as i already had a 939 board took advantage of the cheap x2s. mine is great, my lappy has a c2d in it . it doesnt have as much ram but is a little bit slower in my opinion.

I also tried my Opteron 165 @ 2.5GHz and E6400 at stock and then 3Ghz with the same file, Opteron got owned either way by a margain of hours.

thats fair enough. i am just saying that if you already have a 939 setup its worth spending 60 or 70 quid for a dual core x2 than 350 + for a decent c2d setup
