£900 is the average for a detached house, £800 for a semi-detached.

You're not that much above that. Mind you, I don't know what type of house you live in.

Its not ridiculous. We spend £150 month combined and we switch to the best deals wherever possible. Its rip off britain and Mr brown should tighten the laws but wont because they make money off the taxing of our spends

Exactly what we're paying. £100 electricity, and £50 gas.

I need to look into our BT bill as well... That's £46 a month, and we hardly use it

i'm with eon atm, paying £130pm but our washer/dryer is on on average once a day (c rating) and dishwasher (a rathing) 4 times a week also.

does this sound overly expensive? maybe i should switch?

Just done two different 'compare the market' thingies and both suggest our £1800 bill will drop to about £1500 by going to E-on (from Southern Electric)... So I suspect that's what we'll do... So we'll hopefull end up paying about what you are!

Looking to move to Eon. They have two plans, one is fixed rate, the other not.

Anyone know if gas/electricity is expected to up or down over the next year or so?

eon send you a watt meter and you can get a bit of cashback for switching too

LOL! watt meter - I've just ordered one

But the question is, are gas/electricity prices likely to fall? If so I won't go on their fixed rate!
