Hey lads

I'm going to be formatting in the next few days so I have a query about WoW. I've got the installation discs but if I install that, am I going to have to download each and every patch through Blizzard's lame downloader? A few times I've downloaded a patch then had to download a hot-fix right after which would leave me to believe I need to do the above.

If I do need to download each patch separately, is there any patch out there I can get that brings me to a reasonable version? Is so, where can I get it? :)

Yes you'll have to download every patch. There are various websites where you can download them though.

www.filefront.com is one of them. I can't think of others off the top of my head, but you can google it.
 
Wowwiki.com has a page with the various patches, and fast links to download them. AFAIK there isn't a patch to bring you to 2.0.1 or whatever the latest one is, so you'll have to download two big patches.
 
Yeah you need to download patch 1.12.0 then the to 2.0.1 one. There's a few minor other patches in between that you can easily download automatically when patching though.
