Wow patches totalling 2gb+

Just did our house move, and finally got the PC setup and reconnected to the internet (BT was messing around with the internet connection).

Recent update for Wow.. 1.62Gb! That took a seriously long time. Then immediately afterwards a 600mb patch. Crumbs.. I'd hate to have to patch WoW right from the beginning!!!

What the heck is in these new patches? Wargrounds stuff? Anything decent for my wife to play?

the 1.6gb patch would have been for the pre wotlk it basily puts all the backend stuff in ready for it so on day of release you will only have to install your disks

and for those who wont get wotlk it puts in all the new models for weapons/pets stormwind harbor, achievements ect so they can see them

You can't complain. Its a prepatch which has a whole new continent plus instances in it.

I know you can download the patches but is there such a thing as a slipstreamed image you can install from instead of going through all the patches individually? Took me ages to update it when I had to put it on my laptop recently.

Download patches from a mirror and burn to disk, i've done this and i can reinstall in 1hour.
