WoW patching...

Just got this game and thought I'd say that this game has the most appalling patching system I've ever seen It swamps your upload bandwidth so you download at low speeds and makes a ridiculous amount of outbound connections - sometimes it seems freaking out the TCP/IP stack so much that no more can be made!

Has anyone found a way of manually patching? For now I found that just blocking the connections on the firewall helps my download speeds but this is just a vicious circle and slows others down even more.

Can't believe Blizzard are going for a BitTorrent solution when it's a paid subscription game

uTorrent is flavour of the month isn't it? I've always used ABC before..

Sent Blizzard a moaning email for what it's worth Like I said - using BT when you pay for a sub is more than a bit cheeky (and not to mention cheapskate!).

Got it all patched last night using uTorrent.
