Hey guys,

Daaayeee kindly specced me a machine here:

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18757424

However, it seems some parts are out of stock and I wanted to make a couple of amendments so I've cobbled something together out of what is available/on offer:

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £738.48
(includes shipping: £19.62)

I've got rid of the storage for now, I will add that later if needs be. I've added a dedicated sound card so I can use my AKG Q701s as a headset (assuming the onboard will not be enough to power it) and a different case (which I prefer).

So, does this all go together? Are there any recommended changes?

Thanks in advance.

Looks alright to me. However, if you're planning on making the build a bit more future ready, drop in a slightly larger PSU (maybe 600-650) so you'll be able to just upgrade the GPU in the future if you ever need it. That's my opinion.

In all honesty the PSU in the original post is fine for your needs. You could go for a top-tier OEM like Superflower or Seasonic but the small differences won't be worth the extra cost to you.

You could save money by dropping the soundcard, but I've always thought that the resulting sound beats the on-board solutions - especially in cheaper boards.

I can't see a lot wrong with your original spec to be honest :)

I'm not too bothered about the sound quality upgrade (I'm not playing competitively or anything) I'm just worried they onboard sound card won't drive my AKG q701s.

Planet Coaster loves RAM. I'd recommend 16gb. It loves CPU cores too, the more people in the park the higher the CPU usage goes. It's pretty good at using hardware in general.

I'm ordering today but falling into the trap....Haha.

I've been looking at some benchmarks and it seems the i5 is fairly far ahead. Is it worth spending the extra to get the 6400 or 6500?

Planet Coaster is quite CPU intensive. Might want to spend a little more in that department.

A little more than a 6500?

Could shave a bit off to put towards it by switching the GFX card to - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ocuk...ddr5-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-21e-ok.html

I'm also seeing that the 480 is beating the 1060 in a lot of situations. Would it be better to go for this instead? (Cheaper still) - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/powe...ddr5-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-188-pc.html

Sorry about all these questions. Just want to get it right. :)
