WOW Private Server??

Hey,

Ive heard this is actually possible?

Would be well cool if we had a private OCUK WOW server where everyone on it was an OCUK member plus any of their friends they wanted to invite.

First things first its illegal.

Secondly Privately run servers are nothing like the live ones, in order to make software to emulate a server they had to reverse engineer a lot of the functions, so what you actually get is a poorly performing server with hardly any features and almost none of the content. IE you can run around a zone but there wont be much if anything at all to kill or do, certainly wont be much in the way of quests/instances etc to do.

Yep. why didnt it cross your mind that its illegal all the people on private servers, dont pay. therefore blizzard make nothing.

Actually with the right software which i will not be listing, you can make the game run exactly how the wow live servers run.

I play on a few (no names) and they work exactly the same. Some are blizlike and then some are Fun.

"almost".
They are very very close.

Last I checked they didn't have stats working correctly and calculations for the combat system. (April)
