Played WoW like last summer for couple of weeks, got to lvl 15.

Now ive returned I have got up to 18, but I have forgot how professions works

Im doing cooking, but once you have learnt a recipe how do you look at it again?

And basically how do you cook?

You go to a fire and then what?

Ive left it so long none of the recipes I get , i can do, cause im too low a level?

Any help?

Open your spellbook (P, probably - or click the relevant button on the bar with the char screen, social screen, etc..buttons on)

Look in the main tab (top one) and there'll be a little graphic of a roast chicken - that's your cooking book. Just click that to get to your recipes. Some recipes are drops, or vendor-sold, but many can be bought from a cooking trainer - in all major cities.

If you're alliance you can cook on the stoves in IF near the cooking trainer, or any of the "Ironforge Braziers" dotted around.

To cook, go to fire, open cooking book, make sure you have the ingredients in your inventory. Select thing you wanna cook, create all :)

You can also drag the cooking skill out of the spellbook and put it on any bar you like, just as you would a spell/ability.

Remember though, Cooking isn't a main profession, you can still choose two main professions.
Cooking, fishing and First aid are secondary professions, of which you can do all of them.
