hi all i have just started to play WOW if i buy the expansion games:

The Burning Crusade

Wrath Of The Lich King

do i have to complete the orginal WOW to then play the expansion packs or do i play them seperate?

Burning Crusade gave us two new races including their own starting areas and a new profession in jewel crafting. It also raises the level cap from 60 to 70.Lich King doesnt add any races but does add a new class,Death Knight, available when you have a level 55 character.

I'd suggest getting WoW + BC and playing that for a bit.I don't think you're going to miss out on an awful lot of content from Lich King for a while yet.

Lvl 1-60 = Original WoW.
Lvl 61-70 = Burning Crusade expansion.
Lvl 71-80 = WOTLK expansion.

You need the Burning Crusade expansion to play WOTLK and the original WoW to play either two of the expansions.

Like ExRayTed has said WoW+BC would be a good starting point, the only big thing you'd be missing from WOTLK would be Death Knight class which requires a lvl 55 character anyway.

Fixed :p

don't go rushing to buy to the expansion just yet, get the first one then TBC when you are level 58 or 60, you can start TBC when your 58. Depending on how much you like it. :p

True you can visit the expansion zones a few levels early but I was just pointing out what levels can be reached without particular expansions. :p

Ah, I shee. I got to 72 then realised I was playing the same old thing over and over again. Owell.

To echo the comments above, make sure you get the original WoW as well as The Burning Crusade Expansion. The first expansion contains a couple of new starter zones for when they introduced the 2 new races. These areas are a little more polished than the 'release' zones. You'll probably only be able to get the original WoW bundled with TBC expansion now anyway.

WotLK, though it's proving to be pretty good (imo) contains absolutely nothing for a beginner.

Don't even think about WotLK till you're getting into your late 50's.

There is zilch for a lower level player.
Burning Crusade starter zones are much better as well imo.
