So I posted a little while ago about having started to play WOW and took some advice to stay away from dungeons and battlegrounds for the time being and therefore ive just been questing really.

I'm now around level 58 I believe and just wanted some advice.

Am i correct in assuming raids are much the same as dungeons but for larger parties and if so how do you actually go about getting groups together and going on a raid? I noticed that there's a special mount for a raid due to the 10 year anniversary but I think you have to be max level before you can take part which is a shame.

Given my level should i now be looking at raids and dungeons more?

Given that the dungeons come and go based on your level, does that mean that some dungeons which are no longer on my list, i'll never get the chance to do or is there a way to go back and do them later?

Last question regarding the Auction House. Working through my mining and blacksmithing skills and say i produce a bunch of green iron bracers or the likes, am i best just to chuck them straight on the auction house for the default price or is there a lot more to it to decide on your starting price and the likes?

I am thoroughly enjoying the game, just bought myself a couple of 60 day game time cards from tescos so that should keep me going, and already itching to try some some different classes and races.

Hi Jock,

Firstly, get involved in dungeons as often as you can. Even the lower level ones give good XP and a a good idea of what you will be required to do for the majority of the end game.

I wouldn't worry about raids until you are level 90. The mount from the anniversary raid is in November, which is plenty of time to get to max level!

You can always go back and do old lower level dungeons. You will just have to go to them manually in the world rather than queue. You should be able to solo the majority of them at max level too if you just want the achievements.

For the AH, I wouldnt bother selling your crafted greens. I always found it much better to Disenchant them and sell the dust and shards on the AH rather than the item itself. You will need an Enchanter to do this, or simply roll an alt, learn Enchanting and send all your greens to them and Disenchant them yourself!

Good idea, never thought of using another character and will solve another slight issue. I have a few glyph slots but no way to create them and they cost a fortune on the AH.

How do you get the items from one character to another though?

Edit: and do they need to be the same faction?

Not quite true is it? Unless endgame is chasing down the tank who runs as fast as he can through the dungeon without stopping, tanking and spanking everything - no tactics, no crowd control, just run as fast as possible through to the end where you rinse/repeat :D

Dungeons while levelling are in no way representative of endgame raiding.

The only exception to this is if you're running them with a group of friends or guildmates. Then you stand a chance of learning

Endgame raiding is, of course, totally different from dungeons I agree. But smashing everything and running around chasing a Rambo tank seems like standard heroic dungeons at 90 :D

I suppose I just meant with respect to their being a tank, healer, some DPS, loot, trash packs and bosses.

+1

It's 100x better to have levelled up your first char getting in as much practice as you can in dungeons that are going to be relatively easy than get your first crack at them when you hit max level. Unfortunately, WoW also tends to attract a lot of douchés. Running dungeons frequently will also get you used to dealing with these :)

Once you cap level, your first blast in a raid is most likely going to be through the looking for raid (lfr) system, which in honesty isn't all that different from a dungeon, only it's bigger and draws in a wider circle of douchés.

Don't take any offence to heart & have a good time, in amongst all the waves of douchés there are some real nice players :)

Hey dude what faction are you, If you want to add me to your friends list my battletag is . I should be able to help you with most questions

I'm alliance at the moment and I've sent an invite across, thanks.

Ive mentioned previously so not need to go over it in detail but I do find the dungeons way too fast to the extent if you try and follow the storyline you just get left behind though I appreciate its probably people who have done it 100x before. It would be nice to have a group of players in a similar position to me but cant see that happening really.

Ive already missed quite a few dungeons though will go through them with another character no doubt and will give those I can a shot in between questing.

Done one in blackrocks today and took me ages just to find the party then played for a while and then the tank and healer dropped....but looked a fairly hefty dungeon!

What realm are you playing on, Jock? If you're on Ravencrest or Dragonblight/Ghostlands, give me a shout if you need anything :) if you're not, trust me you Battle ID and I'll happily help out with any questions that may arise!

Cheers guys, much appreciated. Dont think those realms ring a bell but will check tonight. Or is there a way to check without being in front of the computer with the game installed?

One quick general question regarding dungeons.

Had a guy go berserk the other day because when died i spawned back at the start as I didnt realise i was going to get resurrected, so how do I know if someone has the ability to res or not? And although it sounds daft can they only res if they are alive, so if everyone dies you know you have to respawn at the start?

also if anyone at all leaves the instance group will it automatically be looking to fill the space they left, so if i wait long enough it will always get filled?

Just went through the gate thing yesterday so currently going through the Burning Crusade part of the game. Seems good!

Actually, just one last thing. I started another character the other day and sent myself 50g so i had something to start with. I thought it was odd because i just had to type the name itself, as in it didnt seem to have any sort of autocorrect where it would snap to actual names, but then when i went to a mailbox in the starting area there was nothing there. Any ideas?

Cheers

Their class. Unless something has changed in the last year or two, the classes that have rezzes are Paladins, Druids, Monks, Warlocks and Priests.

In any event, you should ask in party chat if someone can rez you before popping. It's only polite.

I think you may now have to type the realm name after the character name now. For example, if someone wanted to send something to my gnome on Grim Batol, it'd be 'Grati-GrimBatol'
