WoW Raiding Question

We didn't use MT prior in MC at all, and only started about halfway through in BWL. AQ40 loot is PvP gear so there was absolutely no prior for any class there until we began raiding Naxx. In Naxx, warriors and rogues share class drops, and since we were firmly of the opinion by then that to progress faster the MT and 2 OTs should get priority, the rogues then got prior in AQ40 as compensation.

It is a pain for non MT warriors, but by the time we were using MT prior, we had 3 heavily equipped tanks, and the other warriors were dps most of the time, and when they did have to tank something, they had at least a few pieces of wrath and a decent shield (Elementium Reinforced Bulwark - we were lucky with that one <3 Chromaggus). So since the non-MT/OTs were mainly dps warriors, they didn't mind passing the tanking gear to the 3 main tanks first.

We did have tanks with VERY high attendance though - MT probably missed one raid in about 6 months, and the OTs were very close to that too. One MT left with full wrath, ERB, Styleen's Impeding Scarab etc, but it didn't take long to gear another one up.

I'd say until you are about halfway through BWL, MT prior isn't much of a help as long as they have decent blue trinkets, rings, etc, but then.... there ain't much you can do about it i expect...

BTW - Jokester... if you read this, Hi :) Cassi here!! Shame you ain't playing anymore, but then, neither am i atm - bored as hell until TBC is released!

:)

Just stopped playing again until TBC comes out, was playing with Tute so I'm well aware of the issues around giving MTs priority on gear, having lost two which ultimately was one of the reasons the guild we were in ended up folding.

Going back to the IFA once it's released?

Jokester

The main reason IFA went **** up was announcing that the officers were making a new (more) hardcore raiding guild when TBC came out, coupled with people not being motivated with TBC so near --- allegedly! In hindsight, we shoulda just stuck together instead of getting all elitest :(

I haven't logged on for a month now, but when TBC is released i will be coming back and sticking with IFA to level with old friends - can't beat a guild that's been together since release tbh! Bytes may even be returning then as well - real old school ;)

BTW - check out the Frostmane realm forum thread about knowing when you're old school - some blasts from the past there - i think my favourite was being reminded about Garbagegirl ganking in WPL.

it depends on what type of guild you have. Before I quit WoW i was in a very friendly open minded guild (let me Moonkin with the mages), unfortunately a lot of guilds follow the "Min-Max" procedure where the leader pretty much sculpts the guild

He's talking crap - I really hate it when people start deciding who can bid for what etc. The whole point of DKP is that people get the loot they deserve based on their raid attendance, its so simple then people come along and decide person A is more worthy of person B blah blah.

MT's are usually up their own backside anyway. If they're any good at MT'ing then they'll have more DKP and get the loot anyway. If you give them priority what happens if your MT quits or leaves your guild?

completely agree, before I quit the server I was on (hellscream) had a MT leave a large AQ40 raiding guild to the "best" guild on the server which put the guild he left back by about 4 months. They still havent full recovered from it due to giving him all the best tanking gear instead of distributing it equally.

Its all well and good saying give the MT all the stuff first but thats no use in say 4 horsemen when you need MANY tanks in excellent gear otherwise you dont stand a chance.

Either look for a new guild or become a DPS warrior and get the nice dps plate before TBC :P

I agree, Feral Druids and Paladins seem to be filling the tank slots nicely in TBC,
