I used one when I had my HTPC Windows 7 (64-bit) with 12gb memory split 8Gb for ramdisk & 4gb for pc, for time shifting, etc.

Would it be worth creating a 2GB or 4GB RAMDISK to boost my 'ickle gamming laptop (Acer Aspire 7739G)?

WD 500GB @5400RPM
8GB Kingston HyperX DDR3 1066
Nvidia GT610m / 17.5" screen / Win7 home

Mostly used for Sanctum / ST Online / WoT / Total War
