I would personally be very wary of buying keys from odd companies online. After all, if they chose to do so they could prove ownership of the CD key and probably get your account taken away from you. (the site listed about also seems pretty expensive given that it's only £10 to £15 in the shops including the box and manual!)
As for buying online, you certainly couldn't last time I tried. It's now possible to buy the expansion online (if you have the original), but I don't *think* it's possible to upgrade your trial account without buying it in the shops. If the option isn't there in your account management, it's certainly not possible.
I would strongly suggest you buy the game in a shop or from somewhere reputable - that way you can get it quickly and it only costs £10 or so. You won't need to reinstall - just input your key into the account management page (under "Upgrade your Account"), and you're ready to go. If you haven't played in a while, you can get started even more quickly by installing the patches in advance - just type in a random username and password and it will install the patch before it checks your account details.

you don't need to buy the serial. When i did it, I created a new account on the WoW europe website and then they gave me a link to down the client from them.
The CD Key is only needed when trying to install the game of CD and it gives you first month for free. Registering and downloading you pay the first month upfront.

Surely if it's still installed & you haven't sold your account on you just need to activate the payment on the Blizzard account management page?

I would imagine that you'll have to purchase a copy of the game then.
Both my kids did the 10 day trial & i ended up buying them both copies of the game before i could upgrade the trial accounts to a full accounts. I couldn't see an option to purchase a serial on the Blizz site.
Only a tenner & if you had ordered it the same time you opened this thread you'd probably have it today
