Wow servers down?

They were all up for a couple of hours, got 2 of my chars respecced and had a play about, they took the servers down with only a 2 min warning :(

Is it still the case that you can't create a character on a server where you don't already have one if it's queued?

Jokester

no you can make chars where you like, at least i havn't had any probs making one, normally just warns you that there may be queues

Grrrrrreat!

WoW - download the update and...... can't log in!
WoW website says "cannot be displayed due to heavy traffic" so it must be proper messed up.
Now do I sit here all night in the hope it will let me log in to one of the two to see what is going on, or give up hope of playing today anyway??

Its not just maintenance day its a huge patch day too... our guild has cancelled all raids for the next 3 or 4 days as things never ever go smoothy with big patches.

Rumor is that thye are having trouble even getting the servers back up and running as something had made them unstable ( though these kinds of rumors always come anyway ).

As usual the wow forums/website are down due to the vast traffic loads.

You've not been playing for very long then? I thought everyone knew that it was pointless trying to do anything the day after a big patch ;):p.

I'm afraid that you don't need a crystal ball to predict this would happen, especially given the enormity of the patch.
