Hi all

I've never really got into WoW, but I want to! lol

I have started a few characters up, never gotten over lvl 27 lol. I want to start with some people tho, playing alone is boring. and guilds come and go like crazy. What I want is some people to start together, we pick a time/day/side & server, so we can go through the game the way it was intended.

Well, post here if you are up for it. Thanks

As long as it's a RP-PvP server I'd possibly be up for this. I'm not going on a non RP server though. This is not because I love talking in olde english, it's because RP servers tend to have a lower % of idiots.

Sorry but I got to say from experience Blizzard intended for people to level to 60 alone, except for the odd instances for elite quests and items. This is pretty much proven by the fact the exp sharing in party plain sucks and its faster and more efficient to solo grind (boring to do but if you have a guild, you can always chat to other people whilst doing it via guild chat) and the huge amount of quests dotted around town, which can be tackled without help usually giving shedloads of exp points.

The main reason I think is that Blizzard wants money from the casual gamers who only play a few hours per week and havent got the time to look for groups, hence the huge surge of contents that requires less time and less players in the recent patches.

I'm up for it. I would like to try an RP-PvP server too so count me in! email is in trust when you make a decision on a server etc.

we did this a few months back, had quite a few of us doing it. not sure whats happening now.

I thought about it, but just joined a raiding guild and started doing ZG and soon MC so cant spare any time.

Nucleo - come make a alliance char on the laughing skull server,

Me and a few friends have a laugh there, were only like lvl 11-15 and we do the quests and have a good laugh on vent.

Add me to msn if your interested :)

What happened was about 25 people in total joined up. At first I saw about 5 people logged on at any one time.... and then less...then I never saw any at the same time, just that they'd been logged on in the last first days. That became weeks, so I took up an invitation to join another guild that I kept doing instances with.. I think we can safely say the idea died.

This seems like as good a place as any to ask..

What exactly are the different types of server? I keep seeing people saying stuff like PVP and RP and RP-PVP... what are they?

PVP ( Player vs Player ) - Opposing factions ( Horde and Alliance ) can fight each other anytime as long as they are in a contested zone. The lower level noob zones tend to belong to one faction and if you are in your own zone, you cannot be attacked unless you attack them first. This is mostly to protect the really low level people. Any zones for lv20ish or above are contested :) which means you are fair game to anyone.

PVE ( Player vs Environment ) - Opposing factions can PVP but only by activating their PVP flag ( /pvp ) or by entering a PVP instance like AV / AB / WSG

RP servers ( Role Play ) - Like PVE servers but with stricter rules on names and what is said in general chat etc. Not sure if they have more events organised though since Ive never played on one!

RP PVP ( Role Play Player vs Player ) - like a PVP server but with the usual RP rules.

if you get bored of the game that easily, you could lvl to 19 and pvp, either solo, or in a group - had a guy on our server exalted @ WSG @ lvl 19 iirc >_>

as for server types, pvp > all, its the way the game was meant to be played imho

yes, you'll get some tards, as you will do anywhere. You could even argue that your likely to come across more idiots on non-pvp servers than others, as there likely children who dont want to be ganked.

I levelled both my lv 60 characters with a group of 6 friends. It was very rare for any of us to be playing without at least 2 others - usually we had full group.

Surely the whole point of mmo's is to play with other people? - the thought of levelling from 1-60 alone doesn't sound at all attractive to me (most of the fun is talking ****** over comms and sharing the experience)

WoW is as good as your friends list.

Yup - i think thats why i stopped it last year coz i was on my own.

Now im in a guild, got a few mates from msn/xfire playing with me, a lot more fun in a group.. grinding alone for a hour or so is ok.

I think you find that with nearly all mmo that the true experience dont really start till you hit capped level. Nearly all the fun features of a MMO game requires you to be at a high or max level to stand a chance.

I am not saying that you play the WoW alone, its just faster to level by yourself to peak level so you can actually tackle the end game stuff with your guild/friends. You can do all this while chatting to your friends and guild too you know, thats what the chat feature is for, theres not really any difference between talking to a friend with his character next to yours and talking to friends over guild chat or private chat, as at the end of the day youre just reading the text from the same box anyway.

So to summarize I am not tell you to play wow all by yourself, I am saying that its faster to level to 60 by yourself.

This was attempted before, but a lot of people were never on. I gave up because I hate leveling characters on pvp servers, and to be honest, a few of the people in the guild were annoyingly immature. It is also true that it is difficult to level in a group - I've had several character I've only played with my boyfriend, and we've had to do extra quests that I wouldn't need to do solo just to make up the lost experience!

On a pvp server it's a pain to be solo as it's just an invitation for gankers. It really doesn't help that now everyone has "twinks" which need to be leveled to 19/29/39... at some point and have stupidly expensive gear and enchants for their level (level 19 with fiery weapon or crusader!), which means a normal character solo has little chance against them.
