Just finished my trial of WOW and have spent all day installing it and th1GB of updates for it:rolleyes:

start the game up and it just goes stright to a black screen, and thats it, nothing

Have updated my grpahics drivers and it then worked once, but crashed while actually loading into the game, after accepting all the agreements and selecting my character

Any ideas?

go to wow repair tool in your installation folder and tell it to reset each one of the 3 options it gives, will reset your res to something normal if its that whats doing it

nope no luck there, straight to black screen again...the HDD just doesnt sound like its doing anything.

Might un-install it tomorrow and let it "download while running" so i dont have to sit here for hours again for it to finish...either that or copy the update file and then move it back when i re-install

will check back tomorrow for any other ideas first though :)

Have you checked your drivers to make sure there up to date?

Have you checked that you don't have a virus etc?

Could you have set the resolution size to larger then your screen can handle?

Each time you fire up WoW the game scans your pc quickly for potential hacks and what not. I have an external HDD connected via eSATA (was USB for a while). Anyway after using the eSATA lead which is MUCH faster I might add I now get a black screen for a few seconds before the game pops up.

So I would suggest defragging your hard drives and clear some space etc delete temp files and what not.

Then reboot after all that and try then.
