Wow - Stuck on "Success" when logging in after reinstall

Hi there, I reinstalled World of Warcraft today after leaving it for a few months.

After the reinstall I was unable to download updates so had to do so manually, it just said "Downloading updates 0%" and didn't budge. After manually updating and trying to log in all went fine but it gets stuck on "Success". I have left it there for several hours with no luck.

This seems really strange as I have even tried turning off my firewall and my router has the correct ports open.

Does anybody have any idea what could be causing this? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Tried reinstalling and had the same problem.

it sounds like a firewall problem to me but as youve tried that im unsure.

Have you checked the official WoW forums and tech support?

Lots of ppl have/are having this problem.

seems a router is rather sensitive to packet fragmentation.

I've been playing around and the problem lies with my router firewall... by opening the correct ports and forwarding them to the PC in use it actually stops wow from working. Disable these rules and it works right away...

Funny thing is these settings are identical to the ones I used to use ? Ah well
