WOW @ the space station & shuttle.

If you check here, it tells you the times to see it.

http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdat...ion.cgi?country=United_Kingdom&region=England

Should be able to see it again tomorrow if it's clear sky.

On that it says for me:
ISS Sat Feb 09/06:15 PM 3 82 34 above W 18 above E
ISS Sat Feb 09/07:49 PM < 1 20 20 above W 20 above W
SHUTTLE Sat Feb 09/06:15 PM 3 82 34 above W 18 above E
SHUTTLE Sat Feb 09/07:49 PM < 1 20 20 above W 20 above W

At the risk of sounding like a complete idiot, wha's that mean in english?

Why can't it simply say "look at 60degrees high in a south-south-west direction"! :p

I use the heavens-above web site a lot as I am out with the kids almost every night watching the ISS fly over.

The weird thing is, that the times it shows for the ISS are different for the times it shows for the shuttle. This is not possible as they are due to dock today. Can anyone explain?

By the way, we saw the ISS, followed half and hour later by the shuttle last night. There was about 20 of us standing in the street mostly with beers in hand, all looking up, when this take-away guy pulls up and the look on his face was totally WTF!

Can u see from like without a telescope?

You can indeed, the I.S.S looks like a very very bright star, travelling very fast, few minutes horizon to horizon. It won't go directly overhead afaik this time, more like traverse the sky.

It is nothing like a plane etc. it is much brighter, has no flashing lights.

Have a look at that heavens above site, not sure if you have to register to put in your details to see when you'll be able to see it.

Holy crap is anyone watching NASA TV atm??? showing footage of the shuttle about 600 feet below the ISS.. Amazing views! flooring it over the earth at 16,000mph.. crazy

Well that was very easy to spot, easier than I thought!
Very bright, moving fast, but without a telescope not very interesting :p

I SAW IT, I SAW IT!!!

Gert big bright light travelling really fast across the sky.
Might go back out again later, cos it was pretty cool.

Just gone over, I didn't expect it to be so bright. Especially since I'm on the edge of a town (expecting not to see anything tbh)

I saw it too. I shouted down to dad that I could see it. He thought I was winding him up until he saw it too.

Just caught a pass of this, it was pretty much directly overhead (84 degrees) and it was a lot brighter than I expected. Very impressve, I must find the keps for it and get the tracking software out!

Yea I just watched it.

started to the right side of the moon.
watched it for ages!!!

went right over our heads, right over the house! was awsome

was beautiful to watch.
shouted to my mum and dad to watch it, they saw it also.

Was really really bright, should be the same tomorrow. as its going to be clear night also!
