WOW @ the space station & shuttle.

Ive only read this page, but here is a useful webbie for tracking objects, especially the ISS.
http://www.heavens-above.com/

No doubt its been mentioned before.
I started astronomy as a hobby at christmas, but this is the first time ive seen the ISS, ive just never really looked for it. But did see a shooting star 2 weeks back, which made me smile.

Missed it again (not feeling well so not going out).

Tomorrow night is likely to be the last chance for many of us, due to incoming weather, so get out there if you can. :)

i'd like to find some video footage any of you guys know where i could do that ? Particularly the take off !

Actually seen it \o/ :)

Saw a few things moving but they were flashing, then I saw this dot near the moon and it was much brighter than anything else nearby (except the moon obviously), not flashing, but noticeably moving. Disappeared over the top of a neighbours house, presumably as it went into eclipse, which is when I knew I'd seen it. :)

Bloody good considering my lousy eyesight.

PS - Spotted unaided. 8x magnification didn't do much besides narrow the field of view.

Wanted to see it tonight, but Heavens-Above is still down for me so i couldn't find out the time in Northern Ireland. Was a good clear night too.

Saw it both times tonight. At first we were like 'nah that's not it', but on the second sighting we realised it was! I located my scope at the last minute, just as it faded away. Not sure what 30x magnification will do anyway.

I caught it last night too. Missed the earlier one as I had forgotten. I was well prepared for the second time, and waited along with my sister. We were looking at the planes and then all of a sudden some bright object came in from our right, whizzing along. Then it disappeared exactly 1 minute later. That's when I was confident I had seen the ISS :)
