Okay, so for a while now I've been looking to return to WoW, My friend pointed out that Blizzard are offering an incentive to which, if someone refers you and you open a new account, the referrer and the referred then get triple XP for mobs, quests etc for 90 days, up to the maximum of level 60. Also, the reffered can grant the referrer with a level up, for every 2 levels he levels (total of 30 levels can be granted) to the referer.

still with me...? lol.

My question is, has anyone done this & does anyone know how long based on this it has taken some people to level, a few random forums are saying 0-60 in 23 hours real time play.

You basically get approx 600xp per kill, and sometimes 30000xp for quests.

And it is around 420k total for 0-60 (I think)

I have been out and bought the WoW battlechest and me and a friend are looking to start off today.

Pretty good incentive as well, the referer also gets 2 months free play time (after I paid for my first 2 months) and also an exclusive mount.

Any advice of anyone who has done this would be great :D

Defo, also, they is no limit on how many chars (only the server limit) you can do with in the 90 days.

Also, spose to be good in instances, (1 Referer whos lowbie, 2 reffered again is a lowbie, then a 70 who will boost you) gives good XP...well supposed to.

Do you need to wow again to get this offer or will it work on a trail account might be intrested in lvling again if its sped up a bit :)

So in theory you could refer yourself if you were happy to create another subscription!?

yeh ive been considering doing that.

Wow is only £9 or so online, which is the cost of a months sub anyway.

Thought about buying it again, leveling up 2 chars 1 each account, 1 on follow the other killing and then when i reach 60 just transfer it over :p

I just bought another copy of wow off the bay for £4 & 60 day game card for £15.

Not sure if im gonna have my 2nd account same side or go alliance :)

Couple of things i've found while i've been using the Recruit a Friend incentive.

First off, the trial account can only reach level 20, then they stop getting xp from quests and mobs. You must buy a wow game to progress past 20. Thus you don't get any RaF boost.

The trick is, make a RaF account, create a level 1 character on it and every time you hand in a quest on the character you create on your account, make sure he is next to you. That way you get triple xp for quest hand ins, but not from mobs.

So in theory you could refer yourself if you were happy to create another subscription!?

That is exactly what you do. Have 2 wows open in window mode and follow the method above the quote.

Well, got this up and running last night, and my god is it rapid to level up.

Got to level 11 in a total play time of 1hr 2mins.

That's pretty cool. I mean it's unfair for a new game, but considering the game is many years old now and Blizzard obviously want the focus now on level 60+ it makes sense to rush players along to this level.

Edit. NVM. Just realized it was to a max level of 20

You basically get to level to 20 on a trial account, but once you upgrade you can enjoy the benefit until 60. providing you do it within 90 days (then the benefits go).

rofl? well Im not a new player and have leveled serveral 70's. So I clearly know what I'm doing.

and it normally would take about 2 hours roughly to get to level 11.5. Where-as I did this around the hour mark. Which If I am not mistaken would take on average 5.45mins per level.

Whcih Im sorry, it would take much longer than that even if you knew what you was doing and did not have a triple XP, in a party of 2.

As when in a party, you tend to get stuck behind on those quests where you both need to get X amount of items, which tend to take the longest.

i think what platypus is referring to is having a host of level 60/70 friends follow you around and kill the mobs that you tag, but they cant be in your group. You have to be in the right areas to maximise XP gain as it is reduced, but it can be done very fast indeed. Millenium used this method to get the first level 70, i think it was 3 hours after TBC was launched.

I see, My point though is you cannot get to level 11, nearly 12 in better than 1 hour. without the triple xp, just questing, in a party with 2 of you, same level.

Yeah maybe you can if you have a 60 or 70 on hand to kill the mobs etc you tag.

But I welcome to be proved wrong..
