It seemed to tie in with promoting the new Spiderman film at the time, and if that really was the reason behind the choice, it was incredibly short-sighted.

Only Nintendo, they're opting for the Nintendo Direct presentations for the gamers. Sony and MS will be showing more of the new hardware off. With little snippets being revealed weeks before to drip feed the tease.
