rolling on the new servers this week, so was trying to decide what class to be.

Now after the 1.10 changes priest become a more lets say, interesting class. I certainly don't think it made them anymore overpowered, just different and in the long run perhaps better we shall see.

I am thinking of rolling a dwarf priest, why dwarf? They are my favourite alliance class + get the best alliance racials, this is a cool thing. I like to pve and pvp, I'll be speced 30 holy/ 21 disc probably I think this is the most viable build end game to please both guild and pvp aspects.

However I am worried, does priest end game gear focus too much on healing and not give enough +damage to beef up smite/holy fire?

Moving onto warlock, this is a class I liked before, however I find the dynamics of its gameplay a little frustrating with perhaps too much going on for my liking, however i am an avid rts player but warlock seems riddled with bugs even though it is one of the best pvp classes out there + I can spec whatever I want for pve and still be good in pve + I get pickings of damage gear when raiding (both good!) and also I can do other interesting things like farm dm west, solo bosses, solo mauradon, solo daemons in winterspring. All interesting and fun.

So in my eyes, I see it like this. I think I'd enjoy priest more at first, but I'm worried long term it will grow tiring fast, whereas Warlock will always have some interesting challenges out there even though I find it not that great currently to play (but I'm low level or was)

this being said, does fear ward with priest offer than equalising factor vs Wotf and the dreaded undead race which would plague me as a warlock especially undead rogues?

Thanks.

I know how you feel, I don't know which faction to be (i'm lvl 22 Dwarf warrior) or which class.

If I stay Alliance, I know the quests very well and can level fast. If I go Horde, I get new quests.

I like being a Warrior, but I think I would enjoy a Paladin or Mage more. Ah, I still have time to think before the new realms anyway.

You have to think about what you like more. Warrior's are good as people always need tanks for instances and Paladins are always needed as secondary healers in instances. Mage are good for churning out the water and doing a lot of damage in instances.

They are all pretty good at pvp in their own ways, although ive heard that paladins are boring. But that's only from a handful of people and not the majority.

Having played both Warlock and Priest, I had *far* more fun with my Warlock. Not keen on end-gaming with the priest...

But at the same time, your never lacking a group! Warlock everytime for me.

End-game as a priest you heal (obviously) and a lot of big guilds will prefer (force :P) you to respec to a heal build (21/30 is good, like you suggested) with which you won't be doing a huge amount of damage in PvP. The priest raid sets are purely +heal and some guilds will give priority on cloth damage gear to classes that do damage in raids, so you might find it hard to get decent epic PvP gear as a priest. TBH, shadow priests are viable damage dealers but not many guilds are open-minded to that.

IMO, Disc/Holy damage spec is kind of flavour of the month and pretty overrated.

Warlocks pwn in PvP and look pretty fun. :P Might roll one there myself.

WoTF won't break deathcoil, and it's on quite a lengthy cooldown, most Warlocks I know fear spam the hell out of everything in PvP so you won't have too much of a problem. If you go SL spec you'll basically be in what is referred to as "god mode".
