Would an 8 pixel pipeline card with 256bit interface, 128mb ram be able to play WOW with decent settings?

Many thanks.

It would be easier to just tell us the make and model, however the 9800 Pro IIRC has 8 pipes, and 128MB RAM, and that runs WoW just perfect.

yeah it depends on the card..but with that being said, WoW is a graphically dull game that doesn't require very good hardware to run smoothly.

Good stuff. Will try to get a cheap X800GTO/XL/XT of the well known auction site :)

It does appear that NV cards are fetching higher fees there. ATI less known to the common PC user perhaps?

I dont mind, means good cards go for less :D

I have an x800 (8800gts on the way!!) and it runs wow everything maxed with full aa\af at 1280x1024...

really? my X800 XT PE just about manages 40 fps or so with no AA i think and some settings toned down (same res) but when flying to shatterah or in instances with a lot of ppl fps drops a bit

still smooth though i guess once it has all loaded. but i dont like dropping below the 35 fps mark as its close to the jittery mark.

Mine is a 256mb x800 bravo and runs it perfectly, no stuttering even when the snow spells start going off in dungeons and things

My X800XT PE would do WoW 1280x1024 4xAA 16xAF and give a constant 60 except when raiding.

If I had a raid coming up I would have to turn AA and AF off, lol. :)

hmm did you have many mods running? maybe thats affecting it a lil. I think maybe our XT PEs are 128 ram too so i dunno.. im gonna have a play tonight :)

maybe i can squeeze more juice out of this baby before i upgrade

A moderate amount, that's going to affect system RAM though, not VRAM.

The one I had was 256MB, it was a really good, solid card. Unfortunatly, this was back in my "18-hours-a-day-of-WoW" times, and a month after warranty expired the card died.

Can't say I didn't get a good use out of it though! ;)

Melt faces in PvP thou shalt. :D

And with your health and mana regen abilities PLUS dps the raids shall love you!... leastwise decent guilds who actually know a thing or two will. The dumb guilds dont even allow priests to be full shadow, their loss trust me. ;)

hehe yeah shadow priest + 1-2 warlocks is a lot of dps although the shadow priest needs a lot of +dmg to keep mana up. a very good addition though and viable in PvE now.

although we have drifted completely off topic i love the arenas, well not blades edge which is crap. We use a shadow priest, druid + me rogue (pve combat daggers) Very good combo, our Spriest stays in normal form while me and resto druid stealth. SPriest shields self looking like he is the holy priest... everyone focus fires on priest, he pops shadow form on and druid drops the big heal and then we nuke their healer :) muahhaa

nice plan... bet it works 99% of the time too. :D

my laptop which has a x700 with 64mb DDR1 (abit slower that a 9800pro) running at 1440x900 meny a MC raid was played like this (i was working slowly on build up some new WC gear) abit of slowdown but was fine the texchers in the past few months (ep on the the ground) have incresed in resotion a lot so i i had to turn it down a tad but Neatherstorm is very sliky smooth so over all u only need a cheap ass crad to play wow , like a 7300GT or 7600GS would be fine even with abit of AA and AF if only running 1268x1024 which i was running 6aa and 16af smoothly at that ress on a 9800pro 256mb on a simple 2.1ghz Athlon xp rig

ahhh but its nice when u can run WoW with everything turned on :)

Trust me I'd played the last two years with eveything from a 4200ti too my present card all handled Wow fine But got use too the bells and whistles now
