WP security issue

Wheres the setting to secure this??

Have a wp site that works now. get things in the address bar like

domain.com/home and domain.com/aboutus/contact which is fine

However if i click on a picture or a pdf thats in there it goes to
domain.com/wp-content/folder/folder/etc then i from there view all the content

You probably want to add

Options -Indexes

To your .htaccess file.

Obviously, keeping WordPress and your plug-ins and themes up to date and secure is more important than just obscuring the content that's there.

Install was does via softaliciuos and only have 2 plug ins one is events calender and the other is the wp importer.

This is my first live WP site... is there any other things i need to know or should look out for
