WPA Password Issue (phone/ps4)

So I've just moved into a temporary apartment in Reykjavik and decided to set up my devices on the wifi.

However, the password indicated on the router is only 4 digits.
So naturally my PS4 and my Mobile won't even attempt to connect when I input this.

My Laptop was fine.

Is there any workaround for this?

Not sure for the PS4 but what phone is it?

EDIT: Seems one way is to manually add the network, so instead of scanning and joining, see if there's an add network option where you need to fill in the wifi name, security type, password, etc manually.

Just tried that an it just doesn't let you click 'connect' because it's waiting for the 8 digit password.

It's an old phone like and i'm hoping to go to a shopping mall tomorrow and get a local phone with a contract so I can get on 4G etc.

For PS4, I noticed there was an ethernet cable going to a box which seems to be just for TV services so I just ditched that.

As long as my PS4 is online i'm good for tonight - I just needed a way to talk to parents back home to sort out some letters that came for me :)

Still...I don't really understand how you can sell a device with WPA security then just give it a 4 digit password.
Maybe I an try logging into the router on my Laptop to see if I can change it or something.

Yeah I tried entering every number sequence on he router but nothing seemed to work. Bit annoying but maybee my new phone can work with it if I get one tomorrow

Can you log into the router and change the password to something 8 characters long? Or get your landlord to do it?

I'll give that a go if I have the same problem with the new phone.
Thee flat is provided by the company until I find my own place so I'll bring it up with them on Monday if I can't sort it.

But yeah hopefully it's just a default password to then log in and set up a proper one.
Its got the address for logging in on it

The issue is I know both Android and iOS based phones will only accept a minimum of 8 characters as well. Best way is to just get the password changed on the router.

Yeah - it's annoying but if changing it on router is a workaround i'll just note the new password down for future people.

Weather has been nice the last week, other than Thursday when I got caught in a bad storm on the way back to the hotel. Hail felt like someone was tattooing my entire face all at once. lol
Then today it was beautiful again.

Almost like being back in Northumberland...only a little more extreme
