Hey, for Christmas I was going to get personalised wrapping paper (don't ask :p) I was just wondering, if I had 5 or 6 shoe box size presents, how many A1 sheets (580mm x 820mm) would I need? Any guesses?

Feel free to move if this is in the wrong section! Cheers :D

EDIT: Thread is dead, nothing to see here folks! If a mod could close it , that would be great :D

We should certainly have a section for challenging questions such as these but I'd likely get probated if I described the name I'm thinking of.

It wasn't really a challenging question now was it? I was asking for peoples opinions. While I get the GD can be a bit......yeah, I was genuinely asking for a few guesses as I really have no idea. If you wish to call me names, feel free to PM me them if it makes you feel better mate.

Well it depends on the dimensions of the box. When you know that then you can calculate the area of all six sides to give you an approximation of how much area of paper you need.

Or you could just go with 42

1. Measure the dimensions of the shoeboxes.
2. Using basic arithmetic, calculate the coverage requirement versus the stated sheet size.
3. Buy this number of sheets.

1 x A1 sheet would cover a shoe box sized item with ease?

A1 is quite large, and shoe boxes aren't too big!

Edit + Math.

Average shoe box size: 295mm x 180m x 95mm
A1 Sheet of paper: 580mm x 820mm

6 sheets and you'll be fine.
