Wrath: Aeon of Ruin (Pre Alpha).

I just found out about this. Looks awesome and is coming along very nicely for a Feb 2021 release. £15 through Steam early access though, and that's when it's on sale! Linux support too.

Recommended system reqs are not that high, as expected:

WRATH: Aeon of Ruin Recommended Requirements
  • CPU: Intel Core i3
  • CPU SPEED: Info
  • RAM: 4 GB
  • OS: Microsoft Windows 10 64bit
  • VIDEO CARD: Nvidia Geforce 710GT
  • PIXEL SHADER: 5.0
  • VERTEX SHADER: 5.0
  • SOUND CARD: Integrated
  • FREE DISK SPACE: 3 GB

I have a HD 4870 gpu but I think I'll be fine.

Considering getting it since it looks amazing.

EDIT: very good reviews but some complaints about movement and level design and on Steam. May be worth waiting a bit.

I don't mind beta and some early access labelling but pre alpha is getting silly. What's next, beta of the pre alpha. They'll be charging for the concept and artwork next as part of a download that's not playable.

It's not pre-alpha anymore, note that the OP was in April 2019. It's due for release in February. OP should have made a clearer thread title though, relating it to Quake.

Yes, saw on the steam page. Point still stands, it's slowly getting worse.
