WRC Monte Carlo - errr what was THAT all about?

ye is definately a load of tosh the new itv coverage was gutted no robbie head or jon desborough i know the other guy is gonna do f1 carnt remember his name er angus scott ??.
As for new rules and the teams thing god knows whats going on, only 3 really top drivers appear to be in it this season and the other up and coming drivers from last years wrc appear to be in private cars.
sad state for wrc if you ask me and no major british contingents either apart from solbergs co driver :( and malcolm wilsons son.

Haven't watched any Rallying since the days of the Integrale and WIlliam Woolard, and meeting Tony Mason in Harrogate at the beginning of the RAC

Used to be so exciting back then, watched one of the rallies late last year and it bored me to tears. Shame!

I use to love watching it, now lost all interest with it but I would like to revive it!

Whens next one on?

Just to clarify slightly (sorry if I've missed it being posted already), Solberg could have restarted under the same rules as Loeb, however it was terminal engine failure that caused him to retire and I believe the rules would disallow an engine change. Loeb's car however was still mechanically sound.

I do however agree with you about ITV's abismal coverage. Too much filler and crap presentation. It works on EuroSport due it it only being a half hour program at the end of each day.

ITV are crap, officially.

The coverage is very poor really, especially when you consider David Richards owns the rights & would have the determination & ability to make it much much better.
I can imagine WRC to be quite a difficult motorsport to make a programme for due to the lack of 'face-to-face' racing. At least at the 1am slots on C4 it removed the need to satisfy all viewers & provided some kind of enjoyment for the fans who were tuning in.

Just to add regarding the current poor coverage, if were honest it's pretty much indication of the state of WRC at the moment. Far to many big name teams dropping out & you could stick Loeb on the back of a Kangaroo & he'd still romp home in the top 5, which he might do in Australia as the Champs will probably be sewn up by then.

rallying just isnt the same as it used to be, far too many tarmac rallys, and then rougher rallys seem soft with pre swept tracks and such like. the cars arnt attractive either.

*gets out duke video mk 2 escort collection* :p
