Write off or not?

Just recieved some pictures from the insurance company.

Also had some good news on the payout they have offered £2600, I told them I am considering this. I think this is very good and most likely be accepting it.

i might be wrong but isn't the first rule to always re-buff the 1st offer? it seems like a good offer anyway to be fair

Nothing wrong with a 206, Mine has served me well for 10 years!!! Finally trading it in this week though

£2600 is an excellent offer IMO.

This one was booked in for MOT and service, I was confedient it would have gone right through.

I wouldnt say that there a bad car, they tend to get slated on here.

The only bad points I found with the car was the gear change, wasnt as tight as it should be, and the build quailty could have been better. These issues can be forgiven by the fact that there cheap to run, I got 60MPG most of the time, cut my fuel costs to about £15-20 a week.

Ive accepted the offer of £2600 now.

You did the right thing. I had to handle the insurance after my dad had an accident. Was very surprised to be offered close to retail. Assessor explained that it costs them less to give 'retail' as the first offer, than to argue back and forwards with a policy holder. If you wanted to challenge their initial offer, you had to get (and pay for) an independent engineers valuation.
