Write Protected BIOS

Got a X58 XFX mobo downloaded latest drivers off the XFX site burnt onto disk put into PC and boot from CD.Screen comes up saying:

This BIOS is Write Protected

Any ideas?

Must be a BIOS setting for this then? Have a look and see. If there's not then it must be enabled or disabled through the actual Motherboard (such as a jumper) in which case have a look in your manual

enter BIOS setup by press del when you boot up PC and then hold down CTRL and F1 then go into BIOS section then change from write protection to unprotect then save &exit then you will update BIOS without problems.
