write protection on vista

I am trying to move the Music Folder out of users in windows to a seperate partition but get the error message "the disk is write protected, remove the write protection or use another disk"

How do I remove this protection? I am using Vista 64 bit premium btw

Hmm, I dont think you can move this folder. You might want to consider creating a folder called "music" then cut and paste the contents in to it.

You can move the special folders, but you need to goto the Music folder properties and then on the Location Tab set it to where you want.

This is a weird problem I cant even paste any document or file in that partition without getting that message?

I'll reformat and try again.
