I just had an idea to write a e-book to sell on amazon for £1 or £2 with 70% royalty. I've written the first chapter, giving away 25 free copies on OcUK. Lol, should I do this?

If you want, but there has been loads of free online guides already done, though they are out of date. May even be a lot of updated ones.

Im sure thee is even a thread within this forum somewhere.

There are also magazines from which (and the like) on builduing a PC, from selecting the parts up to putting it together.

I don't think its really needed. If its something fun to do, do it.
 
If you have the free time and nothing to lose by doing it then give it a shot, just keep it nice and simple and include plenty of pictures, don't assume that the reader knows anything about computers.
