Hi guys,

This year I took photos of about 9 of my school's rugby games (for fun) and one of the teachers has asked me if he can have a copy of some of my photos. I do not want to charge him as I do not feel they are of a consistent quality (as first ones were taken literally weeks after getting my DSLR, but I do feel the more recent ones are of a much higher quality) but bottom line is for this set of photos at least I want them to be free for him.

However I would like to include a copyright notice in the form of a text document. I would like to give him permission redistribute the photos for school related publications (i.e. school magazine, school website) but as long as he gives me a credit and not allow him to use the photos for commercial purposes. Is there any 'proper' way I could write this and include in a text document on the DVD?

P.S. I don't want to watermark the photos as I feel it can destroy them and I would prefer if he just wrote a little credit by each photo he publishes if he choses to do so and I am sure if I put that into writing he would do so, but I am not quite sure how to phrase it :p

Cheers

That is not the part I am struggling with, it is actually writing it that I am finding hard. How do you think this comes across?

Copyright Notice

All photos © Ben Alexander

Photos may be used for non commercial publications only, provided a credit is given to photographer Ben Alexander on the page of the publication.

Does that last bit even make sense? :p

Personally I would put a small watermark along the bottom edge. That way you aren't relying on someone to credit you and then simply specify that they are to appear unedited and for non-profit.
