Was curious, anyone done this? I am googling for decent tutorials but there seems to be an awful lot of confusion between developing "plugins" (such as Flash, Java, etc etc) to allow those types of content to be viewed in a browser, and the creation of "extensions" in Firefox (which are just tiny little browser "enhancements", usefull as they are).

Every time I google for "firefox plugin" I get 8 million results for firefox extensions. Perhaps I am using the wrong terminology?

Probably the best resource. What is it you are planning to develop?

Ah well, I am not entirely sure yet, I have an idea for kind of a huge grand scheme project based on a number of open source projects, but we shall see. I have just spent a long time reading up about developing joomla plugin applications, and I need a front end plugin for browsers to be able to view certain types of content, so its kind of a merger of multiple types of technology.

More than that I don't want to go too deep ^^.
