I'm thinking of getting a 2nd hand Macbook Air 13" (2012) for £849. But I really want to try a touchscreen like the Surface Pro. Perhaps i could write on the trackpad using a capacitive ipad stylus? Anyone tried making notes in lectures like that?

It's not big enough to write sentences, you would be writing single words and short words at that.

I could just about to write the word "Sentences" on it, plus the tip of those pens are round like the end of your thumb, not a tip like the Wacom.

The alternative is do it on a tablet like an iPad, Evernote that do that and people actually use it. The screen estate on an iPad is just so much bigger and in this instance, bigger is better.

Does the bamboo have pressure sensitivity the same as the intuos. I'm still a bit confsued about the differences apart from price and the hotkey functions on the intuos.

If you're going to write by hand anyway, then can't you just take pen and paper to the lectures?! It's cheaper and it doesn't run out of battery.

For me the whole point of taking a laptop to lectures was being able to type much faster than I can write...
