Hi there, Just got my new haswell build today!

unfortunately the wrong CPU cooler was sent, does not support 1150

#This is what i ordered http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-099-TR

but the one sent has brown fans and it not 1150, easy mistake to make as the box says the right pt number, but the model of mine is extream, and that is not on the box.

So, i'm buggered then? even the instructions say no 1150, so i cant use it, but I want to build my computer and i want to use the stock cooler from intel for now, but what about a new cooler? Will OC send me a new one and pick up old one, will they throw in free paste and paste remover for meh grubby chip or do i just have to wait?

OK cheers

I would contact support on this or any product problems. (that's if the cooler was from overclockers)

Products change over time or when new stock comes out so not every product has the same color.

If it is the wrong one sent out I am not sure if you would have to pay to send it back or OC will pay but if you picked the wrong one you would have to pay.

YES!

It has 1155, so ill use the guide for that then?

Right, Ok then, hmm i well gutted its brown, because i ordered Orange for my Z87 Oc board and Orange RAM.... Maybe I can overlook it, but i'm not a patient person

#Aye I ordered the right one, but the one received is brown not orange and its not the extreme version, so i'm al least due a small credit note?

#Sod it, I'm building this tonight or the world ends and I'll suffer the brown fans and lack of Orange extreamness and argue the toss with OC tommorow.

the main thing is I can use it, and Jesus H it big and heavy, good job I bought a 650d or i would be truly buggered!

If your not happy, DSR it.

Get the one you want!!

So use the stock intel and wait for new one? Whats DSR anyhow, some returns policy or courier?

I cant decide now, I'll have a beer and think about it, but you know what, the brownish beige colour is quite fetching, I think I like it... I like beighe. Yeps i'm getting old.

The standard edition is brown, the Extreme edition is Orange - you definitely ordered the Extreme?

If they sent you the wrong one, don't DSR it as you'll front the return costs, just log a webnote and tell them they sent the wrong one, they will arrange collection and dispatch the correct one.

Should have got the H100 and the fan's I speced you in your "spec me post" ;)
ahah yes its your fault mate!

I'm not puttin it in, i just saw the bag of bits.... Yeah, maybe i was ment to get the wrong one so i get the h100i, its only 40 bucks more....

Its just i want it working tonight, im gonna have to use the intel one, but it will mess up my chip with paste, wont be a problem i guess, just need that alcohol for removing it, maybe oc will throw it in for me if i order a h100

The H100 comes with TIM pre applied and TIM cleaner isn't that hard to get hold off on the high street :)

.... oh and don't forget the fan's to complete the orange theme ;)

will look something like this

'high street' hahah, you've never been to deepest darkest Norfolk have you? we have a 'lane'

Its OK, i'm going to that Norwich tommorow, hopefully they'll swop me a bottle for a few hens

I'm being honest :) You really only need to buy the solution if you're going to use it often.

Just use a bit of kitchen towel to remove the paste, no harm in doing that.

Exactly what I do.. as long as you get it all off and dont use the cheap, flaky own-brand, sandpaper type **** that supermarkets sell as their own, you should be good.

Use Bounty.. thats Bounty do a good job.

ok Im leaving.
